The 2012 ADMA International Sled Dog Symposium will be held on Oct. 12th – 14th at the Pioneer Park Civic Center in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Highlights for this year’s symposium include the Yukon Quest’s 30th birthday party, a best invention contest, the great cooker cook-off, the ADMA fund-raising auction, and a working dog trade fair. Some of the presentations on the schedule are the History of the Traditional Use of Dogs in Native Alaskan Culture, Mushing 101, the Beringia Race and Mushing on Kamchatka in the Russian Far East, and a Vet Panel Q&A. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Donna Gigliotti, DC. Dr. Gigliotti is an animal chiropractor with the skill to detect subtle changes in a dog’s gait, attitude or stance and offer fairly easy treatment options for problems before they become performance limiting.
Back by popular demand is our Best Invention Contest! Bring in your dog-related invention for a chance to win $100 in prize money donation by the Monson family and Trail Breaker Kennel. Entries will be on display at the trade fair all weekend, and the winner will be announced on Sunday, Oct. 14th. Contact Emily Entrikin firstname.lastname@example.org for information on how to enter the contest.
