PRELIMINARY FUN RACE #3 JANUARY 28, 2017

Weather looks  promising, but remember the temperature cutoff:  If the temperature at this link:  http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=NWS&issuedby=AK&product=RWR&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1  is -25F or lower at 8 am for the Fairbanks list, the race is cancelled. (The old phone number to check the temperature is no longer available, and this gets updated by the NWS/NOAA hourly).

Please note that the Junior Mushers will be joining us.  Starting order will be as follows:  4 dog Junior will start 4 minutes after the last 4 dog adult leaves.  3 dog junior will start 2 minutes after the last 4 dog junior leaves.

6 dog junior will leave 4 minutes after the last 6 dog adult leaves

8 dog junior will leave 4 minutes after the last 8 dog adult leaves.

2 dog will start 10 minutes after the last open team leaves and/or when trail help and blocking is in place.

1 dog will start immediately after the 2 dog class finishes

Entry fees = $15 per class.

We will begin taking entries at 9:30 am.

Classes and distances as follows:
2 dog skijor and 4 dog = 6.2 miles
6 dog = 8 miles
8 d0g = 12.5 miles
Open = 16.6 miles

In Challenge Series races post entries for skijor must be submitted by 10:00 a.m.; post entries for 4-dog must be submitted by 10:30 a.m.; post entries for 6-dog and mid-distance must be submitted by 11:00 a.m.; and post entries for 8-dog and open class must be submitted by 11:30 a.m. Post entries will pay an additional fee of $5. Challenge Series races that are postponed after the draw, or that are rescheduled with less than one week’s notice, may be post-entered at no additional charge.

In Challenge Series races, the skijor class will start at 10:30 a.m., 4-dog class will start at 11:00 a.m., and 6-dog class will start at 11:30. The 6-dog class will start at 11:45 a.m. if more than fifteen 4-dog teams enter. There will be an interval of 15 minutes between the start times of all other classes. If warranted by signups and acceptable to the race timers, intervals between start times may be increased.
